Undergraduate Honour’s Thesis Student, Biology

I grew up in the waters of Lake Erie, and I’ve seen firsthand how the aquatic landscape has changed throughout my life. My interests led me to work for an NGO tasked with keeping plastics out of Georgian Bay, where I realized the extent of anthropogenic effects on fish. This past summer, I gained hands-on experience during my undergraduate thesis, where I worked to find the optimal growth conditions for largemouth bass. I studied this in terms of condition stability, food levels, and population densities to lay the groundwork for future studies. When I’m not in the lab, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my dogs in Collingwood and spending time at my cottage on Lake Erie.
