Undergraduate Honour’s Student, Concurrent Education and Biopsychology

I am currently a fifth-year undergraduate student studying Concurrent Education and Biopsychology. I became interested in the study of ecotoxicology after an exchange semester in Sweden where I learned about conservation and biological monitoring, and spent a majority of my time monitoring a diverse array of plants and animals on the countryside. Learning and conducting a variety of monitoring schemes for different groups of organisms led me to be increasingly interested in how I could combine these techniques to further understand the effect of pollutants and environmental change on animals such as amphibians. I am excited to join the QE3 lab as a student to examine amphibian communities using automated recording systems and design a potential amphibian monitoring program for several lakes at the Institute of Sustainable Development – Experimental Lakes Area (IISD-ELA).
