Kate Brouwer

Undergraduate Honour’s Thesis Student, Environmental Studies

I am a fourth year student in the Environmental Life Sciences specialization plan. My time spent exploring Ontario’s beautiful landscape has fostered a deep appreciation of the importance of protecting our natural environment, an appreciation which I wish to make a part of my career. I joined the QE3 lab as a SWEP student in the summer of 2019 and will continue in the lab through the school year as an honours thesis student. My research will focus on how glyphosate, a commonly used herbicide- may be harming larval fathead minnows through their food. This research will build off the work of Julia Weder, a former QE3 student. Outside of the lab, I enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing and SCUBA diving.
