SETAC Sacramento

From November 4 to 8, Sam Patterson and Jeff Cederwall, graduate students in the QE3 lab, attended the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry North America 39th Annual Meeting in Sacramento, California.

Sam gave a talk titled “The Impacts of Exposure to Snowmelt from the Athabasca Oil-Sands on the Development and Behaviour of Larval Wood Frogs (Lithobates sylvatica)” in the “Canadian Oil Sands: Advancing Science in Chemical and Toxicological Characterization, Reclamation and Monitoring” session.

Jeff presented two posters: “Effects of diluted bitumen on freshwater communities: response of bacteria, viruses, phytoplankton, and zooplankton in a pilot microcosm study” and “Impacts of diluted bitumen spills on freshwater phytoplankton communities.”
